My name is Andreina Mendoza, and being a part of Raices has given me countless opportunities that I would not have had otherwise. I have learned more about the country my family is from, performed on many stages, and made invaluable friendships. Taking dance classes at Raices is more than just learning a step; we learn more about the culture and history of the places. Even more than that, we learn new things about ourselves as well as the people that we dance with. Through Raices, I've learned that dance can be an empowering art that gives you a voice to express yourself.
